This weekend marked the 5th year of Animation Dingle which celebrates all things animation in Ireland and around the world. And what a cracking weekend it was! The sun came out to shine on the crowds of people who were there to enjoy all of the events and screenings in the stunning setting of Dingle.
Established by Jam Media and running in conjunction with the Dingle International Film Festival, the animation festival has gone from strength to strength every year attracting high profile guests and speakers from the around the world of animation. This year the speakers included Russell Hicks, the President of Content Development and Production for Nickelodeon Group, Dean De Blois writer, director, and executive producer of Oscar®-nominated and Golden Globe®-winning How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014). And Kyle Odermatt the Visual Effects Supervisor of Walt Disney Animation Studios who held a workshop.
There was also representatives from Disney EMEA, CBBC, Brown Bag, Jam Media and Netflix, to name a few, at the various events.
And of course Egg was there too! We were one of the sponsors this year and our Director Gary Shortall, Maud Ribbens our post supervisor and VFX producer Emma Rooney were there to represent and join in the festivities.
