“Love and Frienship” the fifth film from Oscar winning director Whit Stilman is in cinemas now and is proving very popular with audiences and critics alike. Drawing from Jane Austens two early works, “Lady Vernon” and “Love and Friendship” Stillman wrote and directed the comedy which stars Kate Beckinsale, Oscar Nominated Chloe Sevigny and Stephen Fry. The acclaimed cinematographer Richard Van Oosterhout, a good friend of Eggs from The Legend of Longwood , was DOP and got us involved in the post on this exciting project. With the entire film having been shot in Ireland We handled the assembly edit with editor Sophie Corra and processed the rushes.
Set in the 1790s, Love and Friendship centers on beautiful widow Lady Susan Vernon (Kate Beckinsale), who has come to the estate of her in-laws to wait out colorful rumors about her dalliances circulating through polite society. Whilst there, she plots, schemes and manipulates to secure a husband for herself and her rather reluctant debutante daughter, Frederica, with hilarious results.
