The work of picture services doesn’t result in headline credits, but at EGG our Engineering and Picture Services team is as important as all the others. Working across, and with, all other departments, their work is vital in helping our clients identify and solve problems, all the while focussed on delivering high end content every day.
The Picture Service team transcode, sync, log and back up hundreds of hours of footage a month. A vital and complex part of the process comes as second nature to the team, and produces the smoothest experience in the edit suite.
Our 2 Node 240TB EditShare Storage system is connected to every suite and studio in the building, allowing productions to seamlessly transition between departments.
As well as digital back up, EGG has the infrastructure to back up your rushes to physical LTO tapes, should you need it.
As a result of our work in Feature film, EGG has developed an excellent and proven dailies service. Our Picture Services team is well practiced in the receipt and and prompt processing of rushes from sets in Ireland and further afield, for our editors to then create assemblies. Our in- house streaming service EGGStream allied to a 5Gb/s Internet connectionprovides production with full visibility of the previous day’s rushes, through a robust web portal. No matter the size of your production, EGG has the capacity to handle your daily rushes needs.
EGGStream is also a vital service for productions that need to collaborate remotely across multiple locations, with functionality that allows sharing of notes, comments and approval of shots and scenes.
The Picture Services team delivers to broadcasters, streamers, distributors, festivals and cinemas across the globe, every day, in every conceivable format and delivery method. Using Aspera, Signiant, IMD, Peach and EGGStream and a 5Gb/s Internet connection, whatever your delivery requirements, EGG can help you.
EGG is a BBC approved overseas QC house, and the team carries out full technical, including Vidcheck and PSE testing, and eyeball QCs on every project that goes through the building.
One of the areas that the team specialise in is the treatment of Archive. If content uses Archive, then our team will know how best to transcode, resize and export the material to produce the most compelling visuals.
